3.5 stars. I like these characters, Rose wasn't as out of control as she was in the first book and I liked her better, but it didn't seem like as much happened in this book.
Likes:
* Rose seems to be less impulsive
* Lissa and Christian seem to be good for each other
* Rose and Dimitri are combustible

I have heard that many people disliked this one compared to book one. But I disagree. I think the plot and the pacing was far more interesting and that it was just as good if not better.
I can see where the frustration comes towards this book - it's the decisions that the characters make, but I think the characters are growing. I have very little in common with Rose, the lead in Frostbite and Vampire Academy. Other than our smart mouths, though I'm not quite as quick on the draw as she is. I am not, nor was I ever, particularly strong, brave, confident or coordin

A nice surprise, that one. At first I thought I'd just find it OK, Rose being her tantrum-throwing self and all that. However, she actually goes through positive changes, and gets to reflect on her behaviour and grow up, both as a teenager and as a character. Granted, circumstances in the last third of the book could only force her to, but the changes started before that. Now I feel she can really shine as the strong person she's meant to be.

Vampire Academy has made it's way up to the top of my favourite series list. That always seem to happen whenever I get into a new series. But these are the kind of books I would recommend to strangers on the street who really don't care about my opinion! So anyone who reads this and hasn't read vampire academy yet... you probably should... and if you hate it... Sorry!
