An amusing short story in a world of aggressive bio-activism. I liked the realistic view it presented of PhD student life (in Austrslia).
I was not quite as satisfied by this story as I was by Raven's Call. The concept is strong and nicely topical, but I felt the conclusion was a little bit rushed. The story feels like it's mostly set-up, and the set-up is intriguing: PhD candidate discovers some unpleasant truths about her research and her favorite professor. But who is telling the truth? Her professor, or her embarrassingly emphatic fellow grad student? I think the story needed another 25 pages to really breath and build tension
