What Members Thought

Even before I ordered this book, I knew I'd love it. When I got it in my hands, I tried to resist to read it right away. Eventually, I started it, and I couldn't let it go. I needed to witness Hazel Grace's life, I needed to feel what she was feeling.
Of course I cried like a baby. Of course I'm still obsessed with this book.
I think I had never experimented such grief over a book before, and I'm thankful for it, really. I must be masochist or something, but I am thankful.

I used to think that John Green was just smart. And funny/insightful the way smart people are. But he gives the reader much more in this book. He gives good scars. I couldn't put it down.

Wow. This book is amazing. Let me just say that.
It will make you laugh, make you cry, make you laugh/cry in nearly the same page. But it also makes you think and make you smile.
This book is touching in so many ways. To see such a great love story, and yet it also to be so sad.
And DAMMIT. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO HAZEL.
Just like she wanted to know about Anna and the Dutch Tulip Man.

This is the second book of Green's I have read, but I am afraid it was over-hyped for me by friends. It was a good book and well written. I love how Green's teenage characters are intelligent and quick-witted. I did get a bit caught up in how two such unique characters would meet though. My teenage self relates so well to Green's main characters, yet I never met anyone quite so like me in high school as they all seem to do. Different back stories, but same overly critical minds and humor.

Dear John Green,
Where did you learn the fine craft of painting tear stains on my pillow, and making my mother wonder why I'm giggling at 2 AM?

This book made me laugh and cry, gain a new perspective on some things and just enjoy others. :) My only regret is that the ending had to have the lack of (view spoiler) , but when it comes down to it without that lack it wouldn't have been such an amazing book. ...more

Yet again the book is painful.
