I'm a fan of Daniel Silva's writing, although at times it's almost a bit too much (think: Ricardo Montalban rhapsodizing about 'rich Corinthian leather'....) and Gabriel Allon is one of the best good guys in the genre, but 'Moscow Rules' was a letdown for me primarily due to its conclusion. A bit too much action, mostly of the unbelievable variety.

I am totally in love with this series, the action, the story, the characters, all great. My only wish is that Gabriel's role did not always follow the same path.
