So, if Sally Thorne re-wrote The Thirteenth Tale, and made it about Elizabeth Taylor*, and included bitchy emails and IMs, you might have something similar to this book. That's all okay, but it's not what I was expecting. It's not the book’s fault, but I was annoyed that this ended up being very chick-lit-y, when reviews said it was decidedly NOT chick lit.

Another 5 star read from TJR. I thought I knew what I was in for when I started this book, but it quickly changed on me and I loved every minute of it. Evelyn Hugo is a complex and fascinating character. I loved the subtle hint at a twist thrown in and didn’t see it coming until it revealed itself. I’m so glad I own this book.

From a favorite author a different kind of book than she normally writes. I wanted to love it, but no.............it just never clicked with me, however near the end I teared up a few times. 3 1/2 stars.
