Shelves: womens-day, suspense-thriller, fiction, just-for-the-cover, audio, mystery

Mixed reviews lead me unsure what to expect, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. This was really interesting while it was unraveling the mystery, but once it gets to the resolution at the end, it fell apart and became ridiculous; all I could think about was how many times Dave indulged in the repeatey-sentence structure. Shelves: mysteries

A true 2.5 stars. A suspenseful, easy read that started strong and then required a bit too much suspension of disbelief as the story progressed. The writing was fine, but not great. Could have used better editing for grammar, repetitive phrasing, and accuracy—for example, an offhand reference to ice fishing in Lake Washington completely took me out of the book for a bit. :) But a solid classic vacation read.
