What Members Thought

To call this a landmark book is an understatement. It's stuck into the Western consciousness in a way no other novel of this genre has. Don't just think about the half-dozen films/movies, or the Orson Welles radio drama that fooled thousands into believing a real-life invasion was taking place, or even the double-LP (that's music on two vinyl discs, kids). I want to take HG Wells into the future. I want to see his face when I show him lasers. I want to hand him a cell phone, and tell him all the interesting things we've learned about bacteria. I want to show him the face of mars through a high power telescope and super-realistic films inspired by his monsters. Someone find me a time machine (no pun intended), i'm taking this guy to the present day.
