This book is better than Twilight. By far, I'm sure. It's bar far in my top five books I've ever read. I read a lot, you see. This book is filled with action and mystery. He adds some romance also. Overall, i can't wait for book 2 to be in stores. I'll buy it the first day, I'm sure.

This series had been on my radar for quite some time, but in all honesty I didn't really know what to expect. The story is, initially at least, quite simply. The book begins with every adult and teenager aged 15 and over disappearing from a small town in California called Perdido Beach. The book focuses on three teenagers under the age of 15 called Sam (the main character), Quinn (his best friend) and Astrid (the pretty and smart girl). As is expected from such a situation, the opening part of t

If you need to go on a crash diet then my advice is to read this book. When I first downloaded Gone onto my Kindle I thought it was going to take me ages to get through it as it’s pretty hefty – digitally speaking – but within only a few days I was distraught to find I’d hit the last page. Apart from work I suspended all other activities and a bowl of cereal became a suitable substitute for dinner. I literally trembled my way through Gone and could not abide putting it down in case something hid

One day everything changes in a small Cali town called Perdido Beach. In the blink of an eye every single person 15 years or older disappears leaving only babies, toddlers, kids and teens to fend for themselves. Not only that but a strange wall appears surrounding them and locking them in, no phones, internet or tv. Mutations begin to occur immediately, snakes that can fly, coyotes that can talk and kids who develop special superhero like powers. Bullies reign supreme and it is left up to Sam an

"Gone" is one of those books that I think I would enjoy as a TV series or movie, but I had a hard time getting connected with the characters. These kids just seemed so with it and I work with kids ages 11-14 and they are not so with it, so quickly after ALL the adults disappear. The way they moved to take control of situations was just a little too fast for me. Perhaps I was a bit more immature at that time in my own life, but I would be truly freaked if this happened to me and it would take a V

this is the book that began the series. it all started with a "poof". one second, fourteen year old Sam Temple is sitting in his classroom daydreaming about surfing, as his teacher drones on. the next, "poof". the teacher is gone. it doesn't take everyone long to figure out that the adults in school are all gone.
is it a joke? every adult in town is missing. the kids have to adjust to life without grown ups, life without help. things are already chaotic when special powers begin to rise. ...more

I love all books by this author!! Usually when I read books in series (that aren't manga) I just like to read the first one and be done with it. But with Gone, I hung on to every word. The descriptions and suspense technique was really good and I LOVE the Gone series (even if it is a little messed-up)

So overall I enjoyed the book. It was good and the characthers have personalities. I can't wait to get my new copy of Hunger next week.
