I had heard good things about this book ... so when I finally started reading, I kept finding that I was expecting more. What was the more I wanted? Well, I can’t quite put my finger on it.

It wasn’t the plot. The plot was fantastic. Very cool idea.

It wasn’t the characters. There were several characters, and the story was told from varying points of view, and they were pretty well fleshed-out, with their varying motives. A few of them varied between the “good guy” side and the “bad guy” side — t

I like the idea for this book, the only problem was that it felt like it kept rambling on. I was in a bit of suspense at the beginning waiting to find out what was going to happen, but it felt like I kept waiting for a while for the big reveal or at least something to happen, but it didn't seem to get to it for a while. This series seems to promise to be one for book lovers since it references all manner of books as read by her bibliolific main characters. I would love it even more if it weren't so full of ongoing misery. ...more

It was really slow for me. I guess I was expecting more action. Plus the unresolved ending kinda bugged me. Now I feel like I have to read the other books when I'm not sure I really want to, but probably will anyway. ...more
