After more than 300 pages I finally abandoned this book. Surprised me too! I enjoyed Inkheart and loved how this book started out. I listened to it, and the words came alive much better in Inkspell than they did in Inkheart, for me. Perhaps it was the difference of several years, but I'm willing to guess it was Brendan Fraser's wonderful reading of the story.

This series is only okay. I like it, but it's not great. There are some very interesting ideas in there that make me think Funke has a unique imaination.

SO much better than the first one. More things happen and the story line moves much quicker (at least it seemed to me)
