This is a wonderful book. The romance is clean and proper. William is struggling with past mistakes but has a change of heart about his life. He is focused on saving his family estate and making positive changes in his life.
Patience is very giving. She has filled in as the headmistress of her families all girl boarding school. She has so much to give and sees good in William where others see his past mistakes.

I was eager to read the second book in the Whispers on the Moors series because I liked the first book and knew that the second was about Captain Sterling's brother, William. Unfortunately the books are very loosely connected and William is the only character that we encounter from the first book. The themes of turning a corner and not letting your past define you are strong and it's easy to root for William as he tries to straighten our his life.
