While this book was a little unbelievable at times, it was also intriguing, kept me listening when I should have been doing other things, and made me research and learn. It is sad how little I knew about the Berlin Wall, but my kids are not so uneducated. I started listening to this audiobook and now they are all listening. Fascinating historical fiction about a family separated when the Gerta, her mother and brother are at home and the Berlin Wall is built over night when the Father and younger brother are travelling. I really liked the characters and the glimpse into what life was like in Eastern Germany during this time period.
This was a quick and easy read and gave me insight to a different side of WWII. The author did a great job of telling a great story.
I loved this books and I love all of her books. I didn't know a lot about the Berlin Wall and his was a good story and I learned a little too. It makes me appreciate my freedoms that I take for granted everyday.

This is a quick YA read based during the time the Berlin Wall went up. Not too much depth to it, but overall I really enjoyed. Strong 3 1/2 stars.
