2.5 stars. The plot and characters were decent but the romance was awkward, upsetting and at times disturbing. I’m also not much of a sap. It doesn’t help that I think promotes relational views that I find a bit unhealthy. While there may be the occasional couple whose life turns out like a hallmark movie most people will ruin their relationships if they give up on them when they don’t turn out like a hallmark movie.

I’m so glad I read the book instead of watch the movie. This book is very good, a little long in parts. The ending was a tear jerker!
I really enjoyed this action adventure, survival story. It seems like it would be a memoir of a real experience, but is fictional.
It takes about the experiences of Ben and Ashley, two strangers who barely survived a plane crash in the Uinta Mountains. I live within a few hours and have been not too far from the fictional crash site, so I can picture the isolated landscape. I was expecting something "fluffy" with this book ... which usually equates to something that is easy-to-read but with a mildly annoying plot. Well, guess what -- I didn't find this plot annoying *and* I thought the storyline compelling. Sure, this reads a little like a cheesy Lifetime movie or something; and no, I didn't especially love or identify with the characters -- but nevertheless I stayed up past midnight to finish this book (which is something I haven't done in a long time). Hatchet meets Sense and Sensibility, well, sort of! Very entertaining, sweet love story.
I really liked this book! I figured out Ben’s story at the beginning and because of that, I loved the ending. Too bad there aren’t more Bens in this world!
