Lady of Quality wasn’t my favorite Heyer novel. It seemed a little boring most of the time and only livened up when Mr. Carleton and Annis were sparring, when they weren’t together the story kind of dragged by. I am not really a fan of “rakes” and don’t find it romantic when they are purposing they are promising never to stray again. Yeah, right. Other than that, I actually thought Oliver and Annis were perfect for each other and again enjoyed their interactions.

This book was cute. I loved the main character. She and I have a lot of similar goals. Independence from family, a need for helping others, and a lack of love life close to thirty.

Though seen as a comparison story to Black Sheep, I think this one stands on it's own. The story is very compact, not a lot of characters nor a lot of jumps in the plot, but gets the job done.

"A writer of great wit and style...I've read her books to ragged shreds."--Kate Fenton, Daily Telegraph

I can totally understand this review. Heyer's stories are a great escape, where everything works out just as it should. :o)

This was was my first Georgette Heyer. I liked the time period/setting (Regency England) and I loved all the witty banter/dialogue. As far as plot goes not a lot happens.

Drivel. It's like a Barbara Cartland, only I enjoy hers more. I read The Grand Sophy and enjoyed it, but this was awful. ...more

I love Jane Austen and I really like regency romances. It's kind of embarrassing to admit that but I do. It's that side of me that's a hopeless romantic. This was a pretty good book and my first of many Georgette Heyer's to come. ...more
