Bring on the teen fiction! I can’t get enough!! ThIs BoOk RuLz!1! (Okay, yeah ... maybe that's a little much.)

So, this isn’t exactly a masterpiece. But we knew that going in, didn’t we? Like I said, it’s teen fiction, and it wasn’t nominated for the Newbery or anything. I've heard a lot about this book but since I automatically shy away from science fiction I didn't think I would go for it. Turns out it wasn't so bad and I actually enjoyed it. I picked this one up because it frequently appeared in student book reports. The story was more interesting than I had hoped and raised some interesting questions about beauty, but it also seemed to fall back on certain stereotypes, such as the idea that beauty is always linked to ditziness.

I liked this book. It reminded me of "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer in certain places. Of course, I read these two back to back so it's fresh in my mind. Easy read.

I'm not going to read the rest of the triology though. Just not interested enough.

Eh, this book was pretty good. Total young adult book, so not challenging in the least, but kind of an interesting premise for the storyline. I'm sure I'll read the next one just for fun. ...more

Although there was a lot of talk about hoverboards, this book gets all stars from me because 1) I couldn't put it down, 2) It was clean, and 3) my husband and son both liked it too. ...more

This is not the kind of book I normally read, but surprised myself by liking it. It was highly intriguing, the thought process that went into this storyline.
