Charming. This was defiantly a pleasant treat! I thought it was a fun story mixed with a lot of Jane Austen references. As the book progressed there was less and less talk of Austen, and although that was such a main part at the beginning it didn’t lessen the enjoyment as it faded into the background.

Julie and Ashleigh are best friends and next door neighbors who share a tree. Ashleigh has so much enthusiasm for life and is always concocting crazy schemes. Julie always gets dragged along for the ride. When Ashleigh reads Pride and Prejudice, she gets into a Jane Austen phase and comes up with an outlandish plan to crash the local private boys schools upcoming dance. Two of the boys rescue them and what ensues is pure fun.

It's not that I didn't like this book...just didn't care about it. Started it, read the first five chapters or so, and decided I'd rather be reading something else.

This book was like reading a teenage girl's journal. Bleh! But I finished it. Why? Because there was a hint of romance in it and I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff. But then it just ended flat.

Read as part of Stephenie Meyer's TwilghtMOMS book club. Loosely based on one of Jane Austen's books. A quick easy enjoyable read.
