Charming. This was defiantly a pleasant treat! I thought it was a fun story mixed with a lot of Jane Austen references. As the book progressed there was less and less talk of Austen, and although that was such a main part at the beginning it didn’t lessen the enjoyment as it faded into the background.

Julie and Ashleigh are best friends and next door neighbors who share a tree. Ashleigh has so much enthusiasm for life and is always concocting crazy schemes. Julie always gets dragged along for the ride. When Ashleigh reads Pride and Prejudice, she gets into a Jane Austen phase and comes up with an outlandish plan to crash the local private boys schools upcoming dance. I got this as a brainless summer read and it delivered. A typical teenage romance. No swearing or anything else bad.
