Call me a romantic but I felt that Eric shouldn't have had to live the rest of his life in misery after the tragedy. His whole life had been filled with suffering. This isn't to excuse the horrible things that he had done but I can't help but pity the man. He was born with a deformity and shunned by everyone. He's a genius but had to hide behind a mask because nobody can accept him. He thought he found acceptance in Christine Daae but he was sorely mistaken. I'd like to think that this would be

It was wonderful to get the true story of The Phantom of the Opera at last.

Far more chilling then then musical. I think one of my Professors in collage gave this book the best review I’ve hear yet, “The phantom is a homicidal maniac but he sings a pretty song so that can be forgiven.”
