Harry Potter, in what is supposed to be his final year at Hogwarts, has only almost certain death to look forward to. The magical world has become unsafe, invaded by death eaters, the loyal servants of he-who-must-not-be-named. Finished HP7 last night! (stayed up a little late ;))

When I first read HP7, in a fevered rush to figureoutwhathappenedimmediately, I thought that it was just a touch of a let down. At the time, I agreed a little w/ the people who said Rowling spent too much time in the wilderness, and made too much of an effort to track the school year.

The series is brilliant, of course the ending gets dark. If you are looking for the lightness of Harry's youth reread the first books. ...more

It was indeed sad to see this wonderful part of my family's life come to an end. Not that every book won't be reread and every CD listened to over and over, but for Harry I'm glad he can rest now. It has been 7 long book years for him. Many trail and tribulations. He will be missed.

Thanks you J. K. Rowlings for many hours of pleasure.
