This was a very interesting story. I really enjoy the "big brother" aspect of these types of books, and this was no different. For some reason, I felt like the "society", or whatever, was not as controlling in this book. Maybe its because the main character was younger, and the rebellion was more subtle, or maybe its how organized it all was. Cause come on, the "controlling force" was pretty darn controlling. The world reminded me a lot of Matched. I'm glad I read it as an adult. It might have gone over my head if I'd read it in middle school. It was pretty deep. I'm still thinking about it. To be honest, I'm trying to figure out what happened at the end.

This is why I reread. I feel like rereading is a lost art. As you grow and change, so do your perceptions.
The first time I read this book, I hated it. But to be honest, it's been so long, I don't really remember why I didn't like it. I read it in 7th grade. I don't remember reading a whole lot I enjoyed in middle school, though. Maybe I was just perpetually annoyed.
