I think that this book is a good example of what happens when brothers/neighbors go to war against the other. It was a very violent book but from what I understand very realistic. Sarah faced horrific events but with dignity.
One thing that did make me laugh- when she took the gun into the Quaker meeting.
I don't think I would read this book again however I would give it to my son or daughter to read along with Jonny Tremain and My Brother Sam is Dead. ...more
