This book was my first introduction to the legend of Tam Lin, which I have since grown to love. Despite being labeled fantasy (or even historical fiction) this book is really an amazing coming of age story. Kate transforms from a meek duckling into a strong woman who despite all odds saves the man she loves from forces that are beyond her reach.
