more a psychological thriller, but also a romance. And my god, I thought Jane Austen was brilliant until I read this. I was surprised how perfect it is. The movie that came out this year was also VERY good, if you cant get into it. But you probably will. Charlotte Brontë did NOT like Austen :) I'd suggest her sister's book: Wuthering Heights, which is just as psychological, but no real happy ending, and possible incest. The beginning is really boring to get through, but once you get into her adult life it was a great page turner and one of the best love stories I have ever read.
