In Eyam, Derbyshire, 1665-1666, villagers voluntarily agreed to quarantine within town limits in an attempt to contain an outbreak of The Plague. Surrounding villages provided necessities, placing them a specially prepared 'boundary stone'. This book is a fictionalized account of that year told through the eyes of a housemaid.
