Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo
Marlowe helps a sickly military man with a blackmail scheme in which the General's daughter is the target. Several bodies start their "Big Sleep" soon after Marlowe starts on the case. Why?

The characters are well-formed and range from bad to down right scummy. Marlowe is pretty much the only good guy in the story.

Chandler keeps you hooked with his gritty prose and twists and turns. A must read for all mystery fans.
