I'm not usually fond of biographies. This is an exception. It isn't a birth-to-death review of a life, or even a snapshot of a moment in history. This very personal memoir is also a detective story, of sorts, as the author traces the history of an art collection and explores the lives of the family members who have owned it over the years.
