Impeccabile.
Angosciante, commovente, profondo.
E nonostante abbia visto più volte il film, è una delle poche volte in cui non ritengo il romanzo declassato o monco. E per tutto il libro, ho sempre continuato a pensare che il protagonista non avrebbe potuto interpretarlo che Jack Nicholson.
Per chi avesse visto il film, si sa: il finale è amaro, eppure lascia intravedere la speranza, dopo aver trascinato il lettore nella commozione e nella rabbia contro un sistema costruito in nome della democrazia ...more

Questo mondo...appartiene ai forti, amico mio! Il rituale dell'esistenza è basato sul fatto che i forti diventano più forti divorando i deboli. Dobbiamo rassegnarci a questo. E' soltanto giusto che sia così. Dobbiamo imparare ad accettare questa situazione come una legge del mondo naturale.

I'm sorry, I don't like it. I know it's a pivotal novel in American literature, I know it's supposed to show us the unpleasant sides of a psichiatric hospital when lobotomy and ECT were normal procedures, but... But.
I didn't connect to McMurphy till the end of the book. To be honest, up to the fishing trip, I sort of agreed with the Big Nurse: he's doing good to his fellow inmates, but why? Cui prodest?
