Not sure how to start this review. So much going on in this book.
Everything that Trent went through with his step dad, Dieter with what he is going through with the blackmail and something else that you will have to read and find out about..I like to tease, kept me glued to my kindle from word one. This is book 3 in the Harrisburg Railers series. I would advise to read these books in order, if for no other reason, than it's a terrific series with characters you'll enjoy! I will always have a special place in my heart for Layton from book 2, but Trent is now my favorite character from this series. RJ and VL have knocked it out of the park once again. Wait that's the wrong sporting analogy. Scored a homerun? No... Anyway!
I'm loving this series, it's definitely been one of my favourites of the year.

MC Trent was a blast to read. He's snarky, cheeky, does a great one-liner and has a hilarious inner monologue. Even with a subject as heavy as addiction, this story had a lot of humor injected into it that had me laughing throughout the second half of the book.

Trent was an admirable character. I think his work with his rink is something that more people in the world need to do. Even with him being a diva, he wasn’t one to give up, and I loved that.

This is such a great series!

Deep Edge, book 3 in the Harrisburg Railers series, has a lot going on in it. I was really excited to read this story because I love figure skating and I couldn't wait to see how the authors mixed a figure skater with a hockey player. While I'm not a hockey fan, I am a fan of these authors and this series. You don't have to be a hockey fan to enjoy this book/series. The story is not full of hockey jargon at all.

I was really excited to read this story because I love figure skating and I couldn't wait to see how the authors mixed a figure skater with a hockey player. While I'm not a hockey fan, I am a fan of these authors and this series. You don't have to be a hockey fan to enjoy this book/series. The story is not full of hockey jargon at all.

Trent is a figure skating star who has lost everything due to his step-father's gambling addiction. He's faced with losing his skating rink, where he helps children, and also his home. When he's offered a reality TV show gig he's all for it until he hears that he'll have to work with hockey players.

Dieter is hoping to get a contract with the Railers after having a good season being called up from the AHL to cover injuries on the Railers team. His addiction to prescription pain killers could cause everything he's worked for to slip through his fingers.

Wow, there is a lot going on in this book and I stayed glued to my ereader right from the get-go until I finished it. It was hard to read about the things that have happened to Trent through no fault of his own. It was a little harder for me to find sympathy for Dieter. He's in denial about his addiction and that's bound to end up hurting him in more ways than one.

The chemistry between Trent and Dieter is smoking but that's not enough to make a good relationship. When Trent finds out about Dieter's addiction he's not sure if he can deal with it.

I loved the character of Trent's grandmother; she's a hoot. She's not a Railers fan and isn't shy about stating that to all of the players when she meets them. She's very enthusiastic about her love of the Flyers and doesn't change her mind even after Trent and Dieter get together.

I am really looking forward to reading more books in this series.

I thought Deep Edge was fantastic. I loved figure skating as a kid and like to watch hockey, especially the Oilers, so it was great reading about one of each. I’ve enjoyed the Harrisburg Railers series so far and this was just as good. I read this all in one go, I kept turning the page to see what would happen. I like that the story isn’t about how different they are, but how similar they are. I liked Trent and Dieter and I would definitely recommend this book.

This book seems to have the most powerful storyline of the series so far, given what the two main characters go through and have to deal with regarding addiction and angsty family/ex dramas. But damn these authors can write. Every single book in this series has been fantastic, including this one.
