I enjoyed this book a great deal. For years I have heard readers and literary pundits talk about how Chandler and Hammett are the grandfathers of mystery. A fun, quick and well written PI story. Hammett has a way with his main characters that dont dissapoint. Nick Charles carried the book well.

Even if i dont read light funny Noir usually i liked this one cause the typical Hammett ability with characters, story.

Amusing if a bit dated. Makes me want to start drinking martinis again.

They are as in tune with each other as a married couple can be. Between their banter and drinking habits, they can give James Bond a run for his money when it comes to drinking martini's, Nick and Nora manage to find time to solve mysteries. ...more
