The rating I gave it is for entertainment value not it being a literary masterpiece. I enjoyed the plot from the beginning and it definitely had some interesting twists like bringing them all together at the end. Of course I think he went over board with the 80's theme and he could have developed some more depth with some of the concepts he raised in the book. Awesome book! I had so much fun reading this book and am completely bummed that I don't have anymore to read. Just the type of book I've been looking for and I have to say, I personally liked it even better than Maze Runner or Hunger Games, and I loved those books. It was a true cinderella story, for boys. A roleplaying game of novel proportions. Epic! Brilliant for a first book. Highly recommended.

A page-turner to say the absolute least. Especially if you're an 80s-born video game and riddle nerd like me. I want the movie of this book to happen and at the same time I don't because I know Hollywood will just ruin it.
