The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is an Addicted to YA Book of the Month for January 2014. Yet another YA vampire book, but this one is refreshingly a stand-alone novel rather than part of a series. It is also darker and more gritty than other ya vamp books I've read.

While I am still a bit confused on the science of turning cold and turning vampire, the possibility of a vampire bite leading to something other than death or turning into one yourself adds some amount of suspense. The construction of Co

3.50* I went back and forth with this one. The first half was tedious and I kept losing interest. My irritation would build every time I read the description of the main character fighting the hysterical urge to giggle in every single tense or frightening situation. Thankfully, the story picked up for me about 55% of the way in. It kept getting better after that. Loved the end.
