This story deals with the differences in social classes between lady and hand maid, gentleman and coachman during the turn of the century life style of New York. It focuses on the well-to-do family of the Holland girls and the supposed lives they live. While Elizabeth, the elder Holland, appears to have all the social graces she has been trained and raised to be, she secretly lives a different life.
