I think the worst thing about this book is that Kody wrote it when she was seventeen, and she has already proven herself to be an extremely talented author. I read the entire book in one sitting. The beginning seemed a bit rushed. I almost put it down after the first few chapters, but I'm glad I didn't. By the fourth chapter, it had settled into a nice pace and I felt interested enough in the characters to keep reading. If you feel the same way, don't be discouraged. So I accidentally read this in one sitting. It's all the enjoyable kinds of wrong with some anti-slut-bashing thrown in for balance. Bianca feels like the unpretty one in her circle of high school friends. When her family life becomes heavy, she turns to sex with the bad boy as a way of escaping reality. It's a clique parade but was very fun to read. Reading it at the same time as I Am Not a Slut: Slut-Shaming in the Age of the Internet, I saw some of the same themes repeated. I have to say that this book wasn't that great in my opinion, it wasn't bad but it's not one i would recommend as being a great book to read. Maybe i'm not the target demographic so that's why it didn't work for me, i just found it a little annoying in places and the final message was really hammered home, not at all subtle!
