I gave this book a try because I like both of the author's. It was somewhat similar to Harry Potter--a school for training Mages, an evil Enemy the good guys fear will strike at anytime, starting another war, the search for a special child who can save them all, etc. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't great. Call's father taught him from birth to fear the magic world and avoid it at all costs. When he has to attend the testing to see if he will be chosen for the Magisterium, his father preps him to fai
