I really enjoyed this book. I liked how the magical world was intermixed with the regular world. The story line unfolded well and you really sympathize with Jack, who has his world rocked when he discovers he is really from the magical world. Suspense, some cool fight scenes, and right vs. wrong are all at play in this story. There are several books in this series, I believe. Update: This was even better the second time around. I didn't find it slow at all.

This was a pretty good YA story. It wasn't complicated and it was an easy read. The first half of the story was a little slow going, but things really picked up during the second half. I thought Jack was a likable character. He was thrown into his situation unaware of his magical abilities, but he did a great job handling it. He showed signs of maturity without becoming a brat, which was refreshing. I'm looking for

Loved this. I definitely like her writing style. I fell in love with the Seven Realms series, so I figured I'd try this one. I was definitely not disappointed. I feel like Jack really lived up to his "warrior" name... it's not always the bravest thing to fight. Sometimes it takes more bravery to stand down when it's necessary. ...more
