This was my first Patrick Ness book and i have to say that i enjoyed it. It was a really interesting book to read as someone who suffers in the same way as the main character, i've never seen it portrayed so realistically before. I enjoyed the whole book, especially finding out what the indie kids were doing while real life was going on around them. ...more

Well, that's an interesting take on the whole end of high school angst story. Each chapter begins with a brief and wild summary of the crazy things happening in the lives of the "chosen" kids while the remainder of the chapter goes back to the day-to-day drama of being a normal teen who sees the crazy fantastic stuff happening from afar.
