I hate to give this four stars, because, well, this entire series is one of the best things I've read (listened to) in a long time. But rather than comparing it to other books, I'm comparing it to itself? If I could, I would give ILLUMINAE six stars, GEMINA seven stars, and OBSIDIO five stars, but there just aren't enough stars, and for me, this conclusion didn't pack the same punch as the others.

There are several things that make this series amazing.

3.5 🌟 I still like Gemina better in this series. This story continues but has a few new characters.
On the Maoo ship it's not going good. They running out if everything and best thing they can think of is go back to where it all started their colony.
But the colony is held hostage by the bad guys that don't ask questions they just shooting.

Okay story. Again a few familiar characters from 1 and 2.

4.5 for the overall series, but this was my least favorite book in the trilogy. I think it is because the narrative relied heavily on video footage, making Obsidio read more like a traditional novel. The second book was definitely my favorite - like Die Hard in space! - and Nik and Hanna are definitely my favorite couple.
