I did not have very high expectation when I started this book until the first murder happened pretty much right away. I am a wimp when it comes to horror movies and books and the fact I don't read or watch them. The first murder in this book was pretty creepy and being that my husband had just started a night time job and I was reading this part of the book alone I was done for the night...LOL...told you big wimp here. I waited until morning to keep reading so if it was spooky again my strong hu

Since I have enjoyed the author's romances I thought I would give this one a read.
I liked the romance part of the book, the couple was so cute.
I loved the relationship between Makani and her grandmother.
The killing part..............not so much.
Oddly enough I was able to read this at night since most gory or scary books can only be read during daylight LOL.
the gore was ugh a bit too much for my taste.
This is why it took so long to read. I kept putting it down and coming back again and a ...more

This was a gruesome departure from her romances for sure. I have enjoyed all her books quite a lot and this one was no different. It was filled with a lot of gory and horribly violent murders. The killer was very brutal. I enjoyed getting to know the characters. Ollie was my favorite. You never knew who the next victim would be and if the killer would ever be stopped. It was a fun ride that I enjoyed taking. Creepy and gruesome and shocking.
