I'm going to start right here and say, "I did not enjoy this."
And you might say, "Well, why are you giving it three stars then?"
And I will say, "Because I can't stand giving really good writers anything less, and there are things to like about this book."
-This has amazing voice, filled with Harry Potter quips, contemporary metaphors, and tons of authentic teenage snark.
-It also tackles the confusion of bisexuality and what exactly that means.
-I also love that we get to spend some more time wit ...more

I enjoyed Albertalli's first two novels, but despite a potentially cute love story in this one, things just kind of didn't pay off. Other things that were done by Leah and her love interest just were hurtful and did not play out realistically; there would have been more repercussions. Leah wasn't even fleshed out all that well.
