In a word, this book was intense. Sydney and Adrian's romance was very intense and burns bright and hot. I just love them together and I think they make such a good match. I liked the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead but it was not as good as the Vampire Academy series, in my opinion. The writing and story line were still engaging to me but I just did not care for the characters quite as much. It was still really good just not great.
I love these books! Can't wait for the next one! They are fun to read and the relationships between the characters develops well.

I had a hard time rating this one. Probably 3.5 in reality. I loved the Adrian & Sydney scenes but felt like there were way too many pages of filler. Not a lot of story until the end. Most of the characters didn't have much to do. It did have a good cliffhanger like usual. I will continue reading this series in hopes of a wiz-bang ending. "Vampire Academy" as a whole still takes the cake.
