This is the last in the ugly series, and it was a fun way to end the series. I think the "end of the world"/"no hope for humanity" theme in the other books was a little over the top at times, but this book kind of mellowed out some of the previous characters. I enjoyed the series and thought the ideas presented about how parts of society are totally obsessed with looks and social status were very telling. The concept of a merit society is interesting, but I think I could have fallen in love with Moggle. How Aya reacts to the fame is a lot like our teen sensations today. They are overwhelmed by the paparazzi and fans, as well as open to attack by anyone for any reason.

So I just finished this book, and I found it interesting how close we have several elements of the society that exists in this book. I mean if you think about you tube and all the different video feeds that go out, or the fact that a celebrity will make the front page of a newspaper despite more pressing issues that go on.

Okay so I know that this was a spin off from the Uglie's series, but I really did not get into this book till Shay, David and Tally showed up. It still was a good read, just not as great as the books before it.
