I liked this continuation of Matthew and Diana's story, but didn't LOVE it. I'm not a huge history buff, so I found myself a little lost keeping track of the MANY characters mentioned. I did enjoy reading about Diana, as she found out more about herself as a woman and a witch. Matthew was a bit too much to take during some scenes, but his charm usually won out in the end. I will definitely keep reading on to the third and final book when it comes out. I'm intrigued enough by where this one left

I would probably give this three stars except for the 300 pages in the middle that were just rambling without a plot. While I enjoy a good, dry history, this was too much fiction to be considered non fiction and too much non fiction to be considered fiction. I guess its no-fict.
Recommended to readers who can stand going on and on without the story moving forward.
