I love wicked characters. The blacker the heart, the better, and both Kolias and Alessandra are power-hungry, scheming, selfish characters. They are perfect for each other.

This reads like the The Selection, if America had been only after power and money. Alessandra goes to the palace intent on making the King of Shadows fall in love with her so he will marry her, she can kill him, and be the only ruler in the kingdom. Kolias has no intentions of marrying, but he needs to act like he's courting ...more

I loved everything about this book. I really love this author but this book had me entranced the entire time. OF course, it is based on someone planning to kill another person, so the stakes are high. I adored it and I hope there is so much more to this world and these characters. It was pretty clean.
