What Members Thought

I have been reading more young adult books lately, as sort of my quick enjoyment during the semesters of grad school.

Mean girls with vampires!
Having started the Bloodlines series, I decided to go back and read the Vampire Academy books so I could better understand what was happening. As it turns out, both Sage and Rose repeatedly make dumb decisions despite being touted as fiesty heroines and skilled fighters.
This was a quick, one-day, fun book filled with high school betrayals and blood sucking. Woohoo!

An ok story. It was a quick and easy read. I sat down and finished within 3 hours. The story line was interesting. I like the twist on vampires having two different types at war with each other, as opposed to the traditional vamps versus weres. I was just disappointed with how quickly things wrapped up. Still plan on reading Frostbite in the future to see if things get better.

The beginning book in this series is not as good as Twilight (the only other vampire series I've read), but it was still really good. So good, that I couldn't put it down. The author leaves out a lot of information at the beginning, and while you learn it throughout the story, it would have been nice to have a prologue of some sort just to fill you in on a little bit.

One of the best vampire books I've read in a long time. Original worldbuilding and a gripping storyline. I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series.
