Excellent excellent book. I liked the mysterious patchwork of friends. I can't wait to see what Blue's amplification powers being later. The characters are so vivid! I don't want to do the rehashing of the story line and give spoilers, so I will just say that I wish I could forget the book and read it again fresh, just once before putting it on my re-readable shelf and coming ...more

I WANT to love Maggie Stiefvater like everyone else does, but I always feel like I'm missing something! I'd probably really just give this book a 3.5, but I bumped it up because the characters are great and because I'm always hooked by stories featuring psychics.

Well-paced and easily devoured, the first book in The Raven Cycle gets us into its world and invested in its characters efficiently and effectively. The plot itself is a bit ludicrous, but the ride is entertaining enough that I didn't mind it.
