What's not to love about a dark funny gothic novel told with such witticism and twisted sense of humor?
This book is probably not for everyone, but it sure hits the right spot for me.
If you never read any of Sarah's books, help yourself and read The Demon's Lexicon, which up until today is still the YA Book champion of my heart. Sarah's writing is exceptional, hilarious even in the scary part, and always always fun to quote.

3.5 stars. I really enjoyed this book. Kami was a great character. I always like strong female protagonists. She is a lot of fun. From early childhood she is seen as eccentric at the least, crazy at worst. She talks to Jared about everything. The only problem, he is only in her head. Jared is seen in the same way for talking to Kami in his head. Then one day, the two run into each other in an elevator. Jared has just moved to Kami's little town of Sorry-in-the-Vale. This is the first book in a trilogy and I was really liking it not only because the protagonist and I share a first name. Kami is a spunky character who heads her school paper. She is always running head first into danger. She also has an imaginary friend who she's talked to her entire life. There is a mystery surrounding her small town and the mysterious Lynburns who everyone in the town is afraid of. The Lynburns left but now they're back.
