What Members Thought

This book was so awesome! It was such an unusual book at the start and one I wasn't sure I would be able to stand reading and then Tahereh Mafi has this magical way of hooking you and you have to know what comes next. I loved the romance in it. I loved the addition of Kenji towards the end of the book as well as James. Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days*, and she has been locked up for at least 3 years, all because of an accident a crime she didn't know she could commit. Now she lives locked up in a mental institution while in the outside world people die everyday from food poisoning and food in general is really hard to find, animals are disappearing, the weather isn't what it used to.

Pleasantly surprised by this one. A dystopian YA with a focus on romance, but attention is also paid to the main character's unique powers and dark past. I consumed most of this story in audiobook format. I really need to read more books that way, as I suspect that listening to this one rather than reading it vastly increased my enjoyment of the story and characters.
