I was not quite as impressed with this volume but that's probably a function of the massive amount of material it covered. I thought it might be more confusing for young people who are reading this story for the first time. I did appreciate the honesty. Although his personal disappointment in Stokely Carmichael was evident, he did explain how Stokely's outlook differed from most. Intense and wonderful. I tore through it in 2 days. I've long been impressed and fascinated by the Civil Rights' Movement of the 1960s, and consider myself pretty well educated about it, but Congressman Lewis' books are showing me that there's a whole lot I don't know. The magnitude of violence these *young people* faced is disturbing. The March trilogy is an incredible work of memoir and graphic novel. The power of the civil rights movement as embodied in the person of The Boy from Troy, Rep. John Lewis, takes on new meaning as the story told in March progresses.
