This book is hard work, but as with most things in life, when you put in the effort it is usually rewarded. It was our Goodreads book club selection and so I decided to give it a try, though I could only find a copy online and so I purchased the audible version. It is indeed a remarkable story, and one that needs to be known, as there is so little understanding of China in the western world, and in South Africa that is no exception.
