Hosseini is a very tactful and creative writer. This is my first time reading his work and I will definitely read his other books. While I have my favorite moments throughout the book, some chapters really didn’t capture me, which made the story less enjoyable. A quote that resonates with me is from Abdullah: “If culture is a house, language was the front door key to all the rooms inside, without it you ended up wayward, without a proper home or a legitimate identity.” Simply classic

Khaled Hosseini is becoming one of the authors I will continually read no matter what he produces. I must say this book did not move me as much as his previous two did, but his stories are still haunting. His nostalgia for Afganistan and the wide spectrum of emotions portrayed in the various characters' stories are just beautiful to read. Highly recommend reading his books.

This author just gets better and better. The only thing I would argue is that this didn't feel like a novel to me. More like a closely related short story collection.
