From chapter 10:

I sat down on the bed and buried my head in my hands. Why did something like this have to happen to me? All I did was go to the library to borrow some books.

"Don't take it so hard," the sheep man consoled me. "I'll bring you some food. A nice hot meal will cheer you up."

"Mr. Sheep Man," I asked, "why would that old man want to eat my brains?"

"Because brains packed with knowledge are yummy, that's why. They're nice and creamy. And sort of grainy at the same time."

"So that's why h

3.5 stars. "The Strange Library" by Haruki Murakami is a strange short story about a boy who goes to the library and is trapped. As with many of Murakami's stories, this story has a magical bend to it. Fans of his earlier works will probably enjoy this one too.

I am a really big fan of Murakami and I must say that this was not my most favorite book of his. Short stories are generally sort of mixed bag for me. I've started to read more short stories and there are some really great ones out there a

Nobody writes a sentence like Murakami; I laughed the entire way.

True dreamlike style of Murakami. Who knew that the most delicious doughnuts are served in the basement of a library!

The usual weirdness by Murakami. I liked the physical book, the illustrations and weird cover construction. I wish the story had been more complete though.

Odd, short read. The visuals are really incredible and its begging to be adapted into a short film.
